Alan Badgley serves as the founder and Director of Encountering Innovation (EI), now in its eighth year. Hosted at Pittsburg State University since 2022, EI facilitates potential technology collaboration for PSU’s NIMA while advising small business innovators on ‘technology transfer’ for DoD Tech Scouts. Alan draws upon his expertise from his MBA, his Economic Development Financial Professional certification, electrical utility background, national sales recognition, and public service with chambers of commerce. Nationally recognized by DoD Tech Scouts for excellence, Encountering Innovation has clients from over 30 states, with a Midwest concentration through various statewide SBDC programs. Now aligned with ‘Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Kansas’, Encountering Innovation supports the Great Plains Mission Acceleration Center, exposing NIMA to diverse innovation opportunities.
