Dr. Senthil Chenrayan

About

Dr. Senthil Chenrayan is a Research Scientist at the National Institute for Materials Advancement, Pittsburg State University, United States. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India, where his research focused on the development of functional anode materials for Li-ion batteries. Prior to his doctoral studies, he conducted research at CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute, specializing in the mechanistic understanding of spinel and layered cathode materials for Li-ion batteries.
Following his Ph.D., Dr. Chenrayan spent six years in South Korea, serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Group Leader at Kyung Hee University, and later as a Senior Researcher and Research Professor at Gyeongsang National University. His research efforts during this period addressed critical challenges in battery technologies, including Li-ion, Li-metal, Li-Sulfur, and dry electrode systems.
Dr. Chenrayan holds four patents and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed research articles as lead and corresponding author in high-impact journals such as Nature Communications, Energy Storage Materials, ACS Nano, Nano Energy, Small, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Coordination Chemistry Reviews. His work continues to advance innovation in the field of energy storage materials.
